I am a multimedia journalist living and working mainly in Edinburgh, but available for freelance commission anywhere.
My main work is on the website which I founded The Edinburgh Reporter. This is a hyperlocal news website which aims to tell the news with a straight bat approach and without the sensational headlines that newspapers need to sell their print editions. The site has a monthly readership of 100,000+ readers and over 40,000 followers on Twitter.
I also contribute to Hyperlocal Scotland which is an exploration of the hyperlocal world and an attempt to make it better. Hyperlocal Scotland is a training, research and consultancy project which is focussing on mapping out the extent of the local web in Scotland, making recommendations for strengthening it and providing consultancy & training where required.
Photography and video are two of my main passions. A lot of my photos are taken with an iPhone, all of my videos are made on an iPhone and usually edited on an iPhone too. #mojo
